I first read this book about 35 years ago and it totally transformed my approach from entertaining and trying to make everything perfect to impress others to hospitality - focusing on making others feel welcome in my home. Hospitality shifted the focus from me to others. While it may sometimes mean a sparkling house and a from-scratch 4-course meal, it can also mean hot dogs and mac & cheese with a bit of dust on the end tables and dishes in the sink. Hospitality means welcoming people into both our home AND our heart and invites others to be part of our imperfect lives.This is more than a hospitality guide, it is a wonderful Bible study. The writer is a very mature Christian and I'm so grateful she took the time to write this book.
